Welcome to my research home page!As of April 2018, I lead the Horticultural Sciences group within the Institute of Crop Sciences and Resource Conservation at the University of Bonn, Germany.
Having worked at the World Agroforestry Centre in Nairobi, Kenya for 8 years, and at the Center for Development Research (ZEF) in Bonn for 4 years, I also remain interested in agroforestry and agricultural development. The CV page gives you an overview of what I've been up to since 1977. On the publications page, you'll find a list of my papers, blogs etc. I've written some blogs about my work. So far, they have all been published on ICRAF's and WLE's blog sites, but I've also copied them here to have them all in one place. The most recent pieces presented an Agroforestry view on crop modeling, and an analysis framework for evaluating development interventions. Here are a couple of presentations that I gave at the International Horticulture Congress in Istanbul (August 2018): The challenge of warming winters – do we understand tree dormancy enough to prepare deciduous orchards in warm places? Future chill risk assessment using chillR On the science tools site, you'll find a link to my chillR package (for analyzing winter chill for temperate fruit trees) and some sample results from my climate analogue procedure. I'm hoping to add more content to this site over time. So keep coming back from time to time. Happy browsing, Eike |
